Shane Brunson is the founder and operator of Lotus Recovery, an addiction treatment center serving individuals and families across South Carolina. His path to building Lotus Recovery began with his own experience — in 2019, Shane relocated from Summerton, SC to Florence to begin his sobriety journey. The guidance he received from others who had walked that same road became the blueprint for everything Lotus Recovery stands for.
Shane built Lotus Recovery on a simple conviction: the people best positioned to guide someone through addiction are those who have lived it. As a Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS), he brings both formal training and firsthand understanding to every client relationship. That combination — credential and lived experience — shapes the culture of Lotus Recovery from the ground up.
Under his leadership, Lotus Recovery has developed programs rooted in 12-Step principles, one-on-one mentorship, and structured community support. From the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) to long-term residential support, Shane's approach is built around treating the whole person, not just the addiction.
As founder and operator, Shane oversees the day-to-day mission of Lotus Recovery — ensuring every client receives the compassionate, structured care that gave him a foundation for lasting sobriety. He is actively involved in the programs, mentorship relationships, and community partnerships that keep Lotus Recovery connected to the Florence, SC area and beyond.
Shane is committed to building a recovery community that extends beyond treatment — one where alumni, families, and staff continue to support one another long after a program ends.
When he is not at the center, Shane enjoys time outdoors and gathering family and friends — values of connection and community that carry directly into the culture he has built at Lotus Recovery.
